If you are a student at high school or university and have an individual or group business idea, this is the right moment : Start-Up City has opened applications for its fifth edition!
A unique initiative for the empowerment and application of business ideas by students, Start-Up City comes as a joint organization of Tirana Metropolitan University, Metropolitan Incubator, Faculty of Economics, University of Tirana and the Municipality of Tirana.
The best idea will be valued at 2,500 euros, supported by the Metropolitan Incubator for its implementation in the market. Prizes are also reserved for the second best idea, which is awarded with 1000 euros, the third idea with the mentoring and incubation at Metropolitan Incubator. Also, a full scholarship is offered to the winner of the “Individual Entrepreneur” award at Tirana Metropolitan University. There will also be winners in the “Best Pitch” and “Best Woman Entrepreneur” categories.
During the past four editions of Start-Up City, more than 600 young people have participated, over 100 business ideas have been presented, with winners over the years such as “Uno Robotics Group”, “Concept Marketing Albania”, “T-Bot” or “Romix” already operate successfully in the market.
Over the years, the jury of Start-Up City has been composed of well-known names of entrepreneurship, policy-making, academia and organizations, such as the former Minister for the Protection of Entrepreneurship Eduard Shalsi, the President of the Tirana Chamber of Commerce and Industry Nikolin Jaka, the General Secretary of the Chamber of International Trade Ardita Seknaj, President of Tirana Metropolitan University Arjan Çukaj, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Economics-UT Alban Korbi, CEO of Sigal Pension Elvis Ponari etc.
