Excellent accreditation for University Metropolitan Tirana

At the end of the full institutional re-accreditation process, the Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education has accorded the 5-year accreditation for Tirana Metropolitan University.

In the decision of the Accreditation Board of ASCAL, it is emphasized that the standards required for the accreditation of higher education institutions in Albania have been fully met, evaluating positively all the relevant areas.

The rector of University Metropolitan Tirana, Prof. Dr. Nikolla Civici expressed his satisfaction with the result of the accreditation, the serious work in the academic and scientific field. “I congratulate the academic and administrative staff of the University, who do an excellent job with the main focus being the quality. It is the second institutional accreditation that is passed with a very positive evaluation, after that of 2017. These accreditations are a cornerstone in the realization of our vision of being a leader in the academic sphere. Of course, I wish that in the coming years we will strengthen the achievements so far, putting emphasis on scientific research and internationalization, to offer more opportunities to our students and the education system in the country”, says the rector of Civici.

With three faculties and 24 study programs, institutional accreditation is an added guarantee for the new programs offered at UMT, such as the Bachelor’s program in Artificial Intelligence that will soon be licensed by the Ministry of Education and Sports. From 2022, UMT also offers doctoral studies in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Systems in collaboration with prestigious French universities such as “ESIEE Paris-Université Gustave Eiffel” and “Université Grenoble Alpes”, being the first university in Albania to offer this program in the third cycle of studies.
