My experience at IRIS was the highlight that made me understand what I want to pursue as my future career and also helped me in my ethical and professional formation. I would say that this internship came when I needed it the most since I am an almost graduate student and I need to look for my future career possibilities.
As I mentioned above, my experience at IRIS helped me develop my technical skills. I was assigned the role of QA, quality assurance, meaning that I had to complete tests and track bugs for different product releases. During the first two-three weeks, we were engaged in training so we could have a better understanding of what we will do. The training sessions were wonderful, well explained combined with demonstrations. Another thing that I found extremely helpful is that after training, we would have tasks assigned to us to practice what we have learned.
Even if there were difficulties with the task, the engineers were always available at any time to help us.
I always loved the idea of a friendly work environment so we can focus on work and also create a positive atmosphere to make work even better. You can find this environment at IRIS. We would do daily team meetings to inform each other of our progress. I looked forward to those meetings because it was a very positive environment where everyone would appreciate even the tiniest achievement we would accomplish.
To sum up, I am grateful for this experience. I have learned many new things, improved my skills and got the opportunity to meet new people and share our experiences. I would call this internship a much-needed experience that every student should have to create the fundamentals of what they want to become.
