Elona Çera është Zëvendësdekane për Kërkim Shkencor dhe Lektore në Fakultetin e Ekonomisë në Universitetin Metropolitan Tirana. Ajo është gjithashtu koordinatore e programit të studimit Master në Digital Marketing në UMT. Në rolet e saj akademike dhe menaxheriale, ajo është e angazhuar në zhvillimin e kërkimit shkencor dhe në iniciativa që lidhin akademinë me sipërmarrjen, inovacionin dhe transformimin digjital të ndërmarrjeve të vogla dhe të mesme (SME).
Në vitin 2024 ajo përfundoi studimet e doktoraturës (PhD) në Tomas Bata University në Zlín, në fushën Ekonomi dhe Menaxhim. Kërkimi i saj doktoral fokusohet në fushen e “High-Performance Work Systems and inbound open innovation” in high-tech manufacturing and knowledge-intensive service SMEs”.
Fushat kryesore të kërkimit të saj përfshijnë menaxhimi i burimeve njerëzore, inovacioni i hapur, menaxhimi i njohurive, sjellja inovative në punë dhe kultura organizative innovative.
Ajo është autore e disa publikimeve në revista ndërkombëtare të indeksuara në Web of Science dhe Scopus dhe kontribuon në projekte kërkimore dhe zhvillimore që mbështesin inovacionin dhe sipërmarrjen në SME dhe startup-e.
Përveç aktivitetit akademik, ajo drejton dhe koordinon iniciativa për inkubimin dhe akselerimin e startup-eve, zhvillimin e aftësive digjitale dhe projekte inovacioni, duke bashkëpunuar me universitete, institucione publike dhe organizata ndërkombëtare për të forcuar ekosistemin e inovacionit dhe sipërmarrjes.
