Dr. Alfons Harizaj është Përgjegjës i Departamentit të Inxhinierisë Elektrike në Universitetin Metropolitan Tirana. Ai përfundoi studimet e doktoraturës në vitin 2017 në Universitetin e Tiranës (Fakulteti i Shkencave të Natyrës). Eksperienca e punës dhe kërkimi shkencor i tij janë të investuara
në inxhinieri (zbatimi i metodave numerike) dhe arsim (matje dhe vlerësim te arritjeve arsimore). Ai është pjesëmarrës dhe kontribues aktiv në projektet e BE-së në kuadër të COST, CEEPUS, Erasmus +.
Përvoja e tij përfshin gjithashtu anëtar në disa komitete profesionale dhe borde për nxitjen e kërkimit skencor.
