University Metropolitan Tirana strengthens youth preparation for the International Economics Olympiad (IEO)

University Metropolitan Tirana remains one of the key promoters of quality education and the development of the potential of Albanian youth in the fields of economics and finance. As part of its ongoing support for high school students, UMT is organizing a series of training sessions to prepare participants for the International Economics Olympiad (IEO), one of the most important and challenging global competitions for young people passionate about economics.

Since Albania’s first participation in the IEO in 2021, student interest and involvement have grown significantly. In just a few years, the number of participants has quadrupled, from 50 to 200 students from all over Albania, leading to a broader and more qualified representation.

Dr. Blerina Dhrami, coordinator of the Economic Olympiad in Albania and lecturer at the Metropolitan University of Tirana, emphasizes the importance of this commitment:
“Participation in the IEO is not just a competition, but a transformative opportunity for our students. They face real economic challenges, develop analytical, managerial, and communication skills that will serve them throughout their academic and professional careers. We at UMT are proud to create these bridges between knowledge and the international world.”

To ensure comprehensive and competitive preparation, UMT has structured a series of training sessions covering key topics in economics, management, and economic communication:

The Economic Olympiad is not just a competition – it is a springboard for the future success of young economists in Albania.
