RoboTech III: Albanian youth showcase their innovative ideas in the semifinals

RoboTech III, the most important platform promoting innovation, robotics, and artificial intelligence among young people in Albania, has successfully completed its semifinal stage, revealing the finalists who will compete in the grand final.

This edition, organized by University Metropolitan Tirana in collaboration with COD at the Prime Minister’s Office, and with the support of the National Youth Agency (AKR) and Startup Albania, took place after three months of intensive training across different cities in the country.

As an institution committed to education, scientific research, and the development of innovative technologies, University Metropolitan Tirana has turned RoboTech into an annual initiative, contributing to empowering young people in the fields of robotics and artificial intelligence. Through advanced academic programs, including a PhD in “Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Systems,” the university aims to build bridges between education, youth, and the latest technological developments.

A total of 200 students, organized into 27 teams, participated in the competition. They were engaged not only in building robots but also in developing ideas aimed at providing concrete solutions to real societal challenges. Beyond being a competition, RoboTech functions as an educational platform where young people develop skills in coding, data analysis, and communication, preparing them for the challenges of an increasingly technology-driven market.

What happened during the semifinals?

During the semifinals, teams presented their innovative projects and tested their robots on the track, demonstrating creativity, knowledge, and technical skills. Mentors and the jury evaluated each project based on established criteria, fairly selecting the finalists. A special moment was the announcement of the “Rising Star” award, which went to Roan Kuçi, a seventh-grade student from Berat, showing that talent has no age and that the path toward one’s dreams can begin early for those who dare to try.
