The Career and Job Fair was successfully held at the premises of the University Metropolitan Tirana, a major event dedicated to students, graduates, and young people seeking new opportunities in the professional market. The event brought together around 50 well-known companies, organizations, and institutions from Albania and abroad, which presented open job positions, internship opportunities, and career development programs.
The Rector of the University Metropolitan Tirana, Prof. Dr. Nikolla Civici, emphasized in his welcoming speech the importance of university-industry collaboration in preparing new generations for the real challenges of the labor market.
“UMT aims not only to be a center of academic excellence but also a concrete connection to the professional world, offering our students the opportunity to shape their career paths starting right from the classroom,” said Prof. Dr. Civici.
“These events expose young people to the real demands of companies and help them better define the professional direction they wish to follow,” he said.
Dr. Sonila Daiu, Dean of Students, pointed out that the wide participation of companies is a strong indicator of the labor market’s trust in the quality of UMT students.
“We work every day to build bridges of collaboration that bring mutual benefits both to higher education institutions and to the private sector,” she said.
Forum: “Globalization of the Labor Market”
During the fair, a forum titled “Globalization of the Labor Market” was also held, where representatives from participating companies and lecturers from the Metropolitan University of Tirana discussed the impact of technology, professional migration, and the challenges that Albanian youth face in an increasingly globalized market. This discussion provided valuable insights on how universities should adapt their curricula and practices to better prepare young people for international competition.
Alban Bala, representative of the company Lanconics, praised the organization of the fair and the high interest of students in the technology sector.
“We are pleased to see a motivated and well-prepared new generation that is eager to contribute to the development of the tech industry in Albania.”
Meanwhile, the representative from OTP Bank emphasized the importance of collaboration with universities to identify and recruit young talents.
“These are investments for the future, not only for our bank but for the sustainable development of the country,” she said.
The UMT Career and Job Fair thus became a unique platform where students had the opportunity not only to connect directly with employers but also to build their professional network, laying the foundations for their future in an increasingly demanding and international job market.
