Applying Artificial Intelligence to Sensor Fusion in Embedded Platforms: A Data Integration Approach
Bogdanel Dragan is a first-year PhD student from the University of Craiova, Romania specializing in embedded systems, with a research focus on applying artificial intelligence techniques for sensor fusion, contributing to the broader field of data fusion. His work seeks to enhance system intelligence and enable real-time decision-making within embedded platforms by integrating diverse data sources intelligently.
Bogdanel is currently at University Metropolitan Tirana as part of an Erasmus+ mobility program for 3 months, in the framework of the inter-institutional agreement between the University of Craiova and UMT. This agreement also enables joint supervision of PhD research between the two universities, fostering deeper academic collaboration and supporting international research exchange at the doctoral level.
During his stay at UMT, Bogdanel is working alongside the university’s PhD students and research team in the field of Artificial Intelligence. He notes how his own research connects with and benefits from this collaborative environment:
“I believe my research intersects and aligns with the efforts of other PhD students at UMT, as we share a common interest in leveraging machine learning techniques to address complex, real-world problems. Although our specific topics vary, this shared foundation in AI-driven problem-solving fosters a collaborative environment where interdisciplinary insights can flourish.”
His presence at UMT reflects the university’s strong commitment to international partnerships and joint research supervision, creating opportunities for PhD students to enrich their work through cross-border collaboration and interdisciplinary dialogue.
