University Metropolitan Tirana supports and promotes the participation of high school students in the International Economics Olympiad (IEO), a prestigious global competition held annually in the fields of economics and finance. Albania was first represented in this olympiad in 2021. Since then, the number of participants has increased significantly, from 50 to 200 students from all over Albania, ensuring high-quality and competitive representation.

Structure of the Olympiad
Participants will go through several selection and training phases:

Demo Test March 26, 2026 Training by UMT (for interested high school students)
PHASE 2
Economics Test April 2–23, 2026 Workshop: How to Analyze a Business Case End of April 2026
PHASE 3
Preparation and Presentation of Business Cases May 4–21, 2026 Evaluation and Announcement of Winners May 2026

In the 2023 edition, the Albanian team, supported by the Albanian Banking Association, achieved a historic success by bringing three medals to Albania:
