Documents
For all international students who are planning their exchange mobility at University Metropolitan Tirana will have to plan all the required paper work needed before flying to Tirana. Once you are successfully nominated by your home university, you should start to collect the documents that are necessary for the application process of residence permit.

- Transcript of Records
- Certificate of English Language
- Copy of Passport
Accommodation
While University Metropolitan Tirana does not provide dormitory services, it is centrally located within the "Qytet Studenti" Student’s City in Tirana, the capital of Albania. "Student’s City" hosts thousands of students residing in public dormitories provided by the Municipality of Tirana. Alternatively, accommodation options are also available through independent entities such as real estate agencies. The International Office offers general information and support regarding accommodation prior to your arrival.
Residence Permit
Upon arrival in Albania, students are required to apply for a student residence permit with the assistance of the International Relations Office. Prior to submitting their application, students must ensure they possess the following original documents:
- Photocopy of valid travel document
- Photo taken in the last 6 months (47x36mm) (please 4 photos with you as they will be needed later)
- Evidence of suitable accommodation in Albania, certificates/lease contracts of the apartment in accordance with the housing standards in Albania
- Acceptance document from the host institution
- Evidence of sufficient financial resources for living during the stay in Albania for the required period
- Proof of knowledge of the language of the study program/certificate for admission to the preparatory language course
- Document for payment of fees imposed by the host institution.
Insurance
When visiting a foreign country, it is important to be prepared and suitably covered in case you need medical assistance. The International Relations Office of University Metropolitan Tirana will assist you with general information on health insurance before your arrival.
