Amid the excitement of students, the emotions and occasional tears of parents, and the pride of the academic staff, University Metropolitan Tirana hosted the 2024 Graduation Ceremony. This annual tradition celebrates the academic and professional achievements of the university while marking the start of a new journey for graduates in the job market.
Specializing in engineering sciences and pioneering study programs in artificial intelligence, University Metropolitan Tirana has become a prestigious brand for students and high school graduates oriented toward innovation as a guiding principle in their studies.
In his welcoming speech, the university’s Rector, Prof. Dr. Nikolla Civici, emphasized that graduates in engineering, architecture, computer sciences, and economics are ready to excel in the market, thanks to their dedication and UMT’s commitment to fostering an inspiring environment and advancing pillars of scientific research.
“Each of you can make a significant impact on our society, and I am confident you will. But never forget that you are part of a broader network, a community of established professionals and citizens. Today, you are UMT Alumni, and I believe that with your education, determination, creativity, and the goals you have set, together, you can achieve anything. I am proud that together we have built an inspiring environment at UMT, enabling the growth and success of our students. Together, we have established a cornerstone for further development, namely scientific research. With a clear strategy, international partners, and European projects we are involved in, we ensure the highest quality education for our students while making an indelible contribution to society,” said Rector Civici.
Arjan Çukaj, President of University Metropolitan Tirana, thanked parents and students for entrusting their future to this university. He assured that UMT’s vision to provide Albania with a higher education institution focused on engineering, computer sciences, architecture, and economics is becoming a successful reality year after year, evidenced by this year’s record of over 600 new enrollments.
“Today at University Metropolitan Tirana, we are stronger than ever before. “This packed hall and the 600+ students who joined us this year affirm the success of our vision to provide Albania with a leading institution in engineering, computer sciences, architecture, and economics,” said President Çukaj.
He added that this ceremony marks not the end of their relationship with the university but the beginning of a new chapter as its esteemed ambassadors.
The next challenge for UMT is to elevate internationalization to a higher level through scientific research in international projects and by transforming the university into an institution that welcomes not only Albanian but also international students.
As a guest at the ceremony, Arjan Ymeri, Director of the Start-Up Agency Albania, praised University Metropolitan Tirana for making innovation a hallmark of its work and achievements.
