UMT at the Global Education Fair in Dubai: Albania, a New Academic Destination for International Students

University Metropolitan Tirana marked another significant milestone in its international journey by participating for the first time in the Global Education and Training Exhibition (GETEX) in Dubai. This participation not only represented a modern and innovative institution in Albanian higher education but also transformed into a powerful platform to present Albania as a new and promising destination for international students.

Three Days of Energy, Opportunity, and International Connections

During the three days of the fair, UMT positioned itself among the most renowned European and global universities as part of the “Gjon Durrahium” League of Universities, attracting the attention of students, parents, and school representatives from various countries.

“On the first day of the fair, UMT engaged with hundreds of international students, presenting its technology-driven approach, innovation, and preparation for a digital future,” emphasized Esmeralda Doku, Director of Communication and International Relations at UMT. She added: “Being part of GETEX is a major step forward for UMT’s international visibility. It’s an exciting opportunity to present the academic excellence, innovation, and global ambitions of our university to thousands of students and educators from all over the world.”

On the second day, interaction with students from different countries continued intensively, while UMT emphasized the opportunities it offers for both professional and personal development. The university staff provided detailed information about English-taught programs, scholarships, and the support students receive from the application process all the way through graduation.

The third day was characterized by meetings with interested families, teachers, and school representatives who expressed interest in building long-term partnerships with an institution that offers not only knowledge but also a rich international experience in the heart of Tirana.

“GETEX is more than an international fair. It’s a chance to connect with students from all over the world and to show them that UMT is a place where their ambitions can grow. We prepare students not just for jobs, but for life,” said Dr. Sonila Daiu, Dean of Students at UMT.

An Albanian University with a Global Approach

UMT offers academic programs in English in advanced fields such as Business Informatics, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and Business Analytics at the bachelor, master, and doctoral levels. The university is committed to creating a multicultural environment where students from all over the world feel welcomed, supported, and challenged to give their best.

Participation in such international fairs is part of a clear strategy to promote Albania as an educational hub in the Balkans, closely linked with technology, innovation, and modern academic approaches. Through collaborations with universities and educational agencies from the Middle East, North Africa, and Central Asia, UMT is building strong bridges of international communication and student recruitment.

The fair in Dubai is yet another clear testimony of the vision of Metropolitan University of Tirana to position itself and Albania, on the global map of quality and accessible education for all.
