Dean of Students

The Dean of Students at the Metropolitan University of Tirana is dedicated to developing an inclusive academic and social community where every student feels welcomed and supported. The Dean provides the necessary resources and support to promote student success in all aspects of university life.

Our Mission

In partnership with students and colleagues, the Dean of Students promotes engagement, belonging, and respect; develops an integrated community of living and learning; and inspires self-discovery among the students of the Metropolitan University of Tirana.

With students at the center of its work, the Dean of Students aims to set the standards for an outcome-based experience, enabling the students of the University Metropolitan Tirana to advance intellectually, socially, and personally. The Dean of Students focuses his efforts on implementing strategic initiatives and strengthening cooperation and inclusion among the students of the University of Metropolitan Tirana and external partners. He is responsible for developing and managing relationships with third parties, enhancing both international and local connections to create a supportive and enriching environment for students. The Dean also oversees the implementation of projects and organizes activities that contribute to building a healthy and safe campus community.

The Dean of Students is dedicated to three key aspects

  • Orientation for New Students: Assists new students in adapting to the university’s culture and structure, ensuring that they become familiar with and integrate smoothly into the academic environment.
  • Assessment of Academic Progress: Takes care of monitoring student performance, ensuring that they meet academic requirements and make steady progress in their studies
  • Provision of Support and Assistance: Provides comprehensive support to address and resolve student challenges and concerns, offering a sensitive and effective approach to their assistance.

Simultaneously, the Dean of Students helps students understand and apply university policies, as well as utilize the resources provided to achieve the highest ethical standards. He works closely with the Student Council, the Career Counseling Office, the Admissions Office, and Alumni to develop and enhance programs and initiatives that strengthen the sense of belonging and integration on campus. The Dean also supports opportunities for student engagement in councils and activities that help build a successful academic and social environment.

The Office of the Dean of Students at UMT is comprised of five distinguished students for their dedication and passion. Each member contributes uniquely to achieving the office’s objectives, bringing distinct skills and energy to their specific roles as listed below:
  • Event organization, ensuring the successful realization of each event.
  • Coordination of charitable activities, promoting social responsibility and improving living conditions.
  • Promotion of startup initiatives and urban development, supporting innovation and economic growth.
  • Management of the admissions process, providing a clear and effective experience for new students.
  • Representation and promotion of the university, bringing UMT’s initiatives to public attention with enthusiasm and passion.
This variety of roles reflects the deep commitment of the team to ensure a professionally managed student experience and university activities with high standards.

The Student Council at the Metropolitan University of Tirana is an important body that aims to contribute to the development and improvement of the student experience at the university. With tireless dedication and high commitment, the Council aims to enhance the organizational and administrative skills of active student groups, creating structures that ensure their information and support for a successful outcome.
The Council works closely with the university’s governing bodies to improve the academic and research-scientific level, and it strives to strengthen the connections between UMT students and those of other universities domestically and abroad. Through various actions, the Student Council seeks to improve the overall condition of students by creating supportive structures for the development of extracurricular activities.
Another important aspect of the Council’s work is addressing student concerns, acting to resolve them effectively, and providing facilitating services that enhance the quality of student life. Moreover, the Council promotes the development of a rich and diverse cultural climate by organizing cultural, artistic, and sports activities aimed at the healthy and balanced entertainment and education of students.
Through these diverse objectives and continuous dedication, the Student Council at “Metropolitan Tirana” University represents a fundamental force in advancing and ensuring the well-being of the student community, creating an extraordinary academic and social environment for all students.

The Career Counseling Office at the Metropolitan University of Tirana offers exceptional support to students in their professional orientation and development process. This office helps build important connections between the university and public, private, and international institutions to assist students in their orientation in the job market and facilitate their integration into professional environments. Through this service, students can benefit from individual and group counseling, helping them plan and develop their careers. Our career counselors offer specialized assistance in: • Creating a successful career planning strategy • Deep understanding of career fields they wish to pursue • Preparing necessary documents for job applications • Meeting representatives of institutions seeking staff and gaining information about the desired profile Furthermore, the Career Counseling Office is responsible for coordinating and supporting student clubs on and off campus, and for collaborating with university bodies and other local and central institutions to participate in promotional activities and campaigns that help society. The office also shares information and organizes events related to students’ future careers, such as workshops and career fairs.

The Admissions Office at the Metropolitan University of Tirana is the main point of contact for all new candidates who wish to join our academic community.

  • The Admissions Office provides comprehensive support and detailed information for each stage of the admission process, helping applicants understand the requirements and procedures necessary for university registration.
  • It assists in completing documentation and processing applications, giving clear guidance for each necessary step to ensure successful admission.
  • The Admissions Office provides information on study financing opportunities and helps students apply for various scholarships offered by the university and its partners.
  • The office is committed to ensuring a simple and effective experience for all applicants and supporting them at every step of the integration process into the University Metropolitan Tirana.

At UMT, student clubs are not just a series of activities; they are groups for personal development. Student clubs offer a resource-rich environment and opportunities, helping students develop their skills outside the classroom.

The role of the Alumni network at the Metropolitan University of Tirana is to create and cultivate a continuous relationship between current students, academic staff, and graduates who continue their professional journey in public and private institutions.

The Alumni represent a valuable resource for the future of Metropolitan University Tirana, as UMT graduates serve as the best ambassadors both inside and outside the country, contributing their time and skills to significant academic initiatives, career counseling, and periodic engagement in university activities.

Collaboration with all generations of UMT graduates is crowned every year with the Alumni network meeting, where success stories, ideas for activities and joint projects, creation of new institutional partnerships, and maintenance of the social network are shared.

One of the most prominent initiatives of the Metropolitan University of Tirana is Startup City, which provides a supportive environment for students who wish to develop their innovative ideas. Startup City is the place where students and young people can develop their business ideas and present them to a prestigious jury. This competition aims to help all innovative young entrepreneurs realize and present their business ideas. Startup City adds value to the entrepreneurial ecosystem by helping startups grow and position themselves in the market. Within this ecosystem, one of the most successful projects is Robotech, a startup that originated from the university itself and is an idea of our students. Robotech and Startup City are not only centers of technological development and innovation but also contribute to the professional formation of students through their role as mentors, offering advice and support to the new generations of entrepreneurs.
