Objectives of the study program
The “Master of Science” study program in “Artificial Intelligence” – with two study profiles: “Data Science” and “Cybersecurity” (in English language) aims to deepen knowledge in the field of information technology in general and in that of intelligent systems in particular, both theoretically and experimentally and practically. This study program is based on scientific methodology and practice aiming to increase autonomy and consolidate concepts through contemporary subjects and projects.
The main objective of this study program is the formation and qualification of specialists in two strategic fields such as: “data science”, extracting new information which can be applied in different fields such as: business, medicine, etc., and “cybersecurity”, creating security elements such as: biometric recognition, identification of information or applications with bad intentions (malicious).
Data Science Profile
“Data Science”: focuses on managing large amounts of data as well as building models for their research, modeling and processing. The purpose of the profile is to prepare the candidate in one of its characteristic fields such as: data mining, data warehouse, computer vision, knowledge representation, statistics, data analytics, data visualization, query processing, etc.
Cybersecurity Profile
“Cybersecurity”: focuses on methods and models that are applied to protect computer systems from various attacks. The purpose of the profile is to prepare the candidate in the field of cyber security which can be applied in one of its characteristic fields such as: systems security, computer network security, information security, cryptography, etc.
The main objective of this study program is the training and qualification of specialists in two strategic fields: “data science,” which involves extracting new information that can be applied in various fields such as business, medicine, etc., and “cybersecurity,” which involves creating security elements such as biometric recognition, detection of malicious information or applications.
The general objective of this program is to familiarize the student with advanced concepts in the field of artificial intelligence, where the primary goal is the development of intelligent systems capable of learning (starting from a given context) and improving, enabling the acquisition of independent decision-making skills.
The Master’s study program in Artificial Intelligence with two profiles is a significant program, created entirely through research on the domestic and international labor markets, as well as by comparing programs from foreign universities. The field of study of this program is considered a strategic area for technical and scientific interest, as well as for the profound changes this sector is undergoing and will continue to undergo in all spheres of society, especially in employment, the economy, and the sustainable development of industry.
- The curriculum is carefully designed based on programs from important national and international universities, ensuring that the program reflects the latest scientific developments, technological advancements, and academic standards in the field of technology, with specific directions in the field of artificial intelligence.
- The best practices from well-known institutions are incorporated to create a sustainable and comprehensive teaching approach centered on the student. This program includes a blend of core knowledge, advanced techniques, and practical applications through providing new services or improving existing services based on digital operations, tailored specifically to meet the dynamic demands of today’s market.
- The academic staff at the Faculty of Computer Science and IT bring a variety of academic and labor market experience, ensuring that students acquire advanced and practical knowledge. The academic staff are engaged in scientific research and collaborations with the labor market. It should be noted that this program is supported by the Doctoral program in Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Systems, fulfilling the knowledge needs for a new generation of workers in these profiles.
- Beyond technical skills, the program addresses transversal and long-term competencies such as critical and careful thinking, problem-solving, and approaches like communication, listening, and empathy. Graduates are equipped not only with technical experience but also with skills to foster decision-making in organizational contexts.
- There is a commitment to continuous improvement and updating of the curriculum, based on feedback from the labor market, alumni, and scientific research developments both domestically and internationally. This ensures that graduates gain comprehensive knowledge relevant to their chosen profile, with a foundation adapted to applying Artificial Intelligence knowledge in their intelligent decision-making.
The field of artificial intelligence is broad and rapidly evolving, with employment opportunities increasing day by day. By specializing in this field, students can use the skills they have acquired to create, process, and analyze data to achieve intelligent outcomes and have a positive impact in the world of artificial intelligence technology.
In summary, a student of this elite program with a “Data Science” profile can work in positions such as:
- Artificial Intelligence Engineer (AI Engineer): Develops, implements, and evaluates advanced AI models to create intelligent systems.
- Development of intelligent systems in sectors such as economy, finance, healthcare, and bioinformatics. Optimization of production processes in industry, trade, and their distribution.
