Study Scholarships for Bachelor Programs

The Metropolitan University of Tirana values the talent, dedication, and excellence of its students. For high-achieving high school graduates, UMT offers both full and partial scholarships for Bachelor’s degree studies. In addition to the high school GPA, performance in subjects like Mathematics and Physics is evaluated through the Scholarship Test organized by UMT, as well as achievements in Olympiads, scientific, sports, and social activities, and civic engagement. Scholarships are applied only to tuition fees. The administration fee is excluded from scholarship applications and discounts.
**Scholarships are awarded based on clear, fair criteria, and are determined by students’ work and results. Additionally, UMT fulfills its social responsibility by offering a transparent and simple application process.

The scholarship percentages are calculated using the weighted average, where the State Matura has a weight of 60% and the High School Average has a weight of 40%.





Scholarship Exam

University Metropolitan Tirana offers an alternative opportunity to obtain a scholarship through a testing process, which will take place on April 18.

This test gives applicants the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge, analytical skills, and motivation to become part of the UMT academic community. The top-performing candidates may receive a scholarship of up to 100%.

The test is open to all applicants and will include logical and mathematical questions.
The activity will be held at the premises of the Metropolitan University of Tirana, Building 1, at 11:00 a.m. All candidates should arrive around 10:30 a.m. to ensure proper organization of the testing process.

On the day of the test, all participants must bring an identification document and a calculator.

Excellence Scholarships

Grade Average: The grade average must be above 8.8.

Criteria: Based on the weighted average of the State Matura exam (60%) and the High School GPA (40%)

Social Scholarships

Criteria: Economic and social difficulties, verified with documents such as family income statements, proof of financial aid, or reports from social services.

Required Documentation: Family income statement and documents verifying the social situation (reports from social services, certificates of poverty, etc.).

Scholarship for the Best UMT Student of the Program (per Academic Year)

Criteria: The UMT student with the best academic performance in BSc programs, with a weighted GPA ≥ 9.0, is awarded a 75% scholarship, while a student with a weighted GPA ≥ 9.5 is awarded a 100% scholarship. The scholarship is applied to the following academic year. In the case of the best students in the final year of Bachelor studies, the scholarship is applied to Master’s studies pursued at UMT.

Talent Scholarships

Criteria: Exceptional achievements in technology, culture, arts, sports, or participation in national and international Olympiads/competitions.

Recommendations from mentors or professionals: Proof of outstanding skills and talent, supported by experts in the respective field.

Scholarships for Children of Teachers

Criteria: At least one parent must be a teacher in the pre-university education system (public or private), verified with documentation (e.g., work certificate).

Children of parents in other educational fields: The high school GPA must be at least 8 to ensure that students are committed to their studies.

Scholarship Application through the Scholarship Commission

Who can apply: Students with an average above 8 and valid reasons for receiving or improving the scholarship. Deadline: Interviews are held on the dates specified by UMT. Required documentation: • Identity card; • Copy of high school diploma and transcript for the three years of study; • Additional documents for the relevant scholarship category; • Physical appearance before the Commission to complete the process. Tuition Fees

Anyone interested can reserve a spot in one of the study programs at UMT starting from December. The Metropolitan University of Tirana offers reduced tuition fees for early reservations.
