Lekë Pepkolaj graduated in five-year mathematics from the University of Tirana in 1998. In 2015 he completed his PhD in mathematics at the University of Salerno, Italy. In 2023, he received the title of Associate Professor at the University of Tirana. He is currently teaching the courses of Algebra-Geometry and Numerical Methods for Engineering at University Metropolitan Tirana. Since 2018 he has been a member of the External Evaluation Group for the accreditation of institutions and curricula in higher education, close to ASCAL. From 2018 onwards, part-time lecturer at the University of Shkodra.
In September 2021 he became Director of the Department of Computer Science at the University College “Qiriazi,” where you will remain until 2023. In 2015 – 2021, full-time lecturer at Albanian University, where during this period he held the following positions: coordinator of basic education courses; coordinator of the Erasmus+ program, at the departmental level; member of the Internal Quality Assurance Unit at the departmental level.
His scientific production can be grouped in different directions such as: mathematics education and e-learning; mathematics teacher education, including key issues such as teacher motivation and career choice; STEM approach and convergent education; PISA assessment. He has a rich research and scientific activity, co-authored about 35 articles and scientific references in conferences at home and abroad. He is a reviewer for numerous international journals. He has participated in national and international projects as a coordinator and partner. He is very active in the daily press with informative articles on sensitive topics related to education.
