Prof. Dr. Arben Asllani shared with UMT students the required knowledge needed to understand Artificial Intelligence (AI) as well as a number of issues related to it, specifically:
What question does artificial intelligence answer;
Brief history on AI and discussion of recent advances in the field;
The various fields where AI sees practical application;
The two approaches towords Artificial Intelligence and machine learning;
Demonstration of a simple artificial neural network for image recognition.
Prof. Dr. Arben Asllani is part of the academic staff at #UMT , contributing to the programs of the Faculty of Economics and the programs of the Faculty of Computer Science and IT. Professor of “Data Science” at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga USA, and also the author of two books: ‘Business Analytics with Management Science Models and Methods’ (Pearson & FT Press, 2015) and ‘Big Data Technologies for Business,’ (Prospect Press, 2021).
Dr. Asllani has published over 80 articles in scientific journals. Professor Asllani’s expertise includes the latest tools and methodologies in business analytics, such as Big Data technologies such as Spark, HIVE and PIG; Data processing technologies such as SQL and ETL; and Descriptive Analysis such as simulation and mathematical optimizations.
